POTENTIAL IN SODIUM-ION BATTERIES
PyroGreen Carbon (PGC) represents state-of-the-art material for sodium-ion batteries and has quickly become one of the most promising candidates for anode material in such batteries. Unlike graphite, used as the anode in Li-ion batteries, PGC exhibits three different storage mechanisms for Na-ions: storage between graphene layers, storage in closed micropores, and absorption on surfaces in defects.
HTTech is currently involved in a research project in collaboration with IFE, exploring the possibilities of supplementing the battery industry with battery anodes produced using our innovative thermolysis technology. Our technology serves as an environmentally friendly alternative to the fossil industry. PGC is well-suited as an anode material, especially for sodium-ion batteries.
